TRUMP MUST GO NOW!
Over the course of the past week, Trump first threatened to carry out genocide against the 93 million human beings in Iran unless Iran ceased blockading the Strait of Hormuz, an important trade route. Then, when that horrific threat aroused worldwide outrage and when Iran refused to back down, Trump agreed to a two-week ceasefire along with negotiations. And now—after one day of negotiations which did not go to America’s liking—Trump has threatened a naval blockade along with resumed bombing which would end the ceasefire.
Within hours of the ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and Iran announced on April 7, Israel unleashed the deadliest day of death and destruction on Lebanon since March 2. This is when Israel began its genocidal assault while they also partnered with the U.S. in its criminal war on Iran.

This week, Joe Kent resigned as “National Counterterrorism Center Director,” a position directly under Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s Director of National Intelligence. Kent said, “I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.” Unfortunately, thousands of progressives began spreading this quote approvingly.

The world’s attention may be focused on the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, but Israel’s U.S.-backed genocide in Gaza hasn’t stopped.
Palestinians are still being starved and needlessly dying due to Israel’s criminal blockade of food, medicine and other needed supplies. Meanwhile, Israeli tank shells recently killed three people in a tent camp for displaced people and wounded ten more, including children. Their missiles have killed people in markets and slaughtered people in villages. On March 15 alone, the Israelis killed 12 Gazans, including two children and a pregnant woman.
Israel isn’t just murdering civilians and destroying vital means of survival in Iran. It has seized on the war to launch a preplanned assault on Lebanon—not to “protect Israel,” but to implement the “Gaza Model,” in Lebanon. What does this mean? It means the total devastation, seizure, and occupation of Lebanese towns and territory south of the Litani River—some 8-10 percent of Lebanon’s territory. And it means incalculable death and devastation across all Lebanon.

On February 24, Trump gave his annual State of the Union address.
Many anti-Trump commentators (gleefully) deemed the speech a “failure” because “it won’t improve Trump’s falling poll numbers” in advance of the midterm elections this November. And they argued that he advanced few “policy proposals” that would provide legislative reforms for the deep problems gripping the U.S. (and the world).
As a crucial part of fighting for a whole different and far better world, people must prepare now to act against the outrage of Trump’s fascist, imperialist threats against Iran and against any war that the U.S. and/or Israel launch.

On the Cold-Blooded Murder of Renee Nicole Good: What Are You—What Are We—Gonna Do Now?
You know it by now, but let’s say it anyway. This past week, with Renee Nicole Good’s murder—in combination with Trump’s outrageous international rampage—we took a giant leap into full-out fascism. An ICE thug named Jonathan Ross murdered Renee Nicole Good—a poet and a mother who set aside time and ended by giving her life just to warn fellow humans that ICE was in the neighborhood. A person who by all accounts was kind, compassionate and caring. An ordinary person… and a hero.

Last week, the U.S. bombed the sovereign nation of Venezuela, killing over 100 civilians and kidnapping the President, Nicolás Maduro. Since then, Trump and other forces in his fascist regime have been on a rampage: threatening to attack and asserting his right to dominate, control and invade any country anywhere—without any legal constraint. But while Trump sounds like a madman, this is not just madness. They are laying out their fascist strategy to remake the world in the interests of a fascist America more able to contend with who they see as their main imperialist rival, China.
